Federal law does not prohibit you sending your handgun to Alpha Precision direct, without going through a dealer, and it can be returned directly to you. Local laws may prevent you from shipping, check to be sure it is legal. You cannot ship by the United States Postal Service unless you have a Federal Firearms license, but you can ship by common carrier. Most use either UPS or FedEx. UPS requires overnight shipment and to be shipped at one of their counters or from a Federally Licensed firearms dealer which has an account with UPS. FedEx requires you ship Priority Overnight. If you have any questions, please contact UPS or FedEx directly. Your gun will be returned by either UPS or FedEx, using whichever carrier you used.

Pack your gun in a corrugated box using "pop corn", bubble wrap, or crumpled newspapers for padding. Tell the shipping agent you are shipping a handgun to a Federally Licensed gunsmith for repair or alteration. Insure for replacement cost. A confirmation of delivery will be required.
